Head of the Equity Value Boutique at ING Investment Management, Nicolas Simar has directed its value and dividend strategies for the past several years. Overseeing the management of more than EUR 5.5 billion in dividend funds in global, US, European and euro-zone investment universes, as well as a EUR 3 billion value fund’s dividend strategy, Nicolas has also managed the ING Euro High Dividend Fund since its inception in April 1999.
With nearly fifteen years of experience successfully applying value- and dividend-focused investment strategies in a variety of funds and fund types, he has developed extensive expertise in the field. Nicolas started his career at the Banque Bruxelles Lambert in 1996 as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager responsible for several European government bond portfolios and European balanced funds.

Following BBL’s merger with ING Investment Management three years later, he moved to the Equity team to launch its Euro High Dividend Fund.
Nicolas is a native of Belgium and is fluent in French, Dutch and English. A widely recognised expert in outperformance and alpha generation in value and dividend strategies, as well as an effective communicator, he is frequently sought out for his views.
He completed a degree in Civil Engineering at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) in 1994 and in Business Administration at the Institut Français du Pétrole (Paris) in 1995.
